Ruijun Hu is a London-based artist, working predominantly with watercolour and oil. He is currently the vice president of the British Chinese Artists Association and arts teacher at the Ming-Ai London Institute in London. He is also a Chinese bamboo flautist that has performed in world-class venues such as the Royal Festival Hall. His watercolour works were recently exhibited at the Fabiano International Watercolour Biennale in Italy 2022 and the IWS International Watercolour festival in Cordoba arte21 online, Spain 2023.

Ruijun was born in Gansu, China, where he studied and taught fine art at Art College of Northwest Normal University in Lanzhou. He moved to London in 1991 where he has relentlessly continued to pursue his passion for art and music. Growing up in the East and living in the West for the last few decades has shaped a multicultural background that has broadened his artistic interests and enabled him to evolve his works over the years.

In 2008, he was selected as one of the core artists commissioned to recreate the lost Armada Tapestries by the House of Lords. This series of six large painting are now permanently displayed in the Palace of Westminster.
