LU Bing

"Lu Bing, also known as Lu Yinru, is a renowned Chinese artist born in 1939 in Shanghai. A distinguished art professor and national outstanding teacher, he is a member of various prestigious art associations in China. With a background in oil painting from Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, he has made significant contributions to art education and creation throughout his career. Proficient in oil painting, watercolor, and gouache, his works are known for their vivid expression, strong colors, and dynamic compositions, blending techniques from both Western and traditional Chinese painting styles."

Lu Bing, also known as Lu Yinru, with the pseudonym Pudong Caiyuánzi, was born in 1939 in Zhoupu, Pudong, Shanghai. He is an art professor, a national outstanding teacher, a member of the Zhejiang and China Oil Painters Association, a member of the Zhejiang Artists Association, a member of the China Oil Painters Association, and a member of the Zhejiang Oil Painters Association. He was also a long-term member of the Zhejiang Architects Association, dedicated to art education and creation.

He graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1965, under the tutelage of Mr. Quan Shanshi. In 1981, he was transferred to the Department of Architecture at Jiangxi University of Technology. In 1992, he became the director of the Faculty Room of Art Teachers at Jiangxi University of Technology. In 1993, he moved to Zhejiang University of Technology, successively serving as the deputy director of the Department of Architectural Education and Research, the director of the Department of Environmental Art, and the dean of the School of Design Art.

He was promoted to professorship in 1994 and was named a national outstanding teacher in 1995, as a member of the early China Oil Painters Association. He has written twelve papers, authored four teaching aids, and published one monograph. He has participated in national exhibitions multiple times, with eight of his works being selected.

Before retirement, he was a leading figure in the art discipline at Zhejiang University of Technology, founding and establishing the School of Arts as its first dean, steadfastly remaining at the forefront of teaching. Proficient in oil painting, watercolor, and gouache, he emphasizes the language of oil painting and direct painting techniques. His works are characterized by strong colors, bold brushstrokes, and an emphasis on conveying mood and dynamic rhythm. They are vivid with a sense of music, skillfully combining Corot's techniques with the brushwork of traditional Chinese painting.
